Deputy Supported Housing Manager - Young People's Services (Eastbourne)

Job Title: Deputy Manager - Supported Housing

Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex (with travel to Hailsham)

Salary: £33,550 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, one late shift per week, one weekend shift per month, plus on-call

Deputy Supported Housing Manager - Eastbourne Pivotal People is exclusively recruiting a Deputy Supported Housing Manager for a respected charity providing 24/7 supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25 at risk of homelessness in the Eastbourne area. You'll help young people feel safe, understood, and supported as they build towards independent living.

About the Deputy Manager Supported Housing Role

Working alongside the Supported Housing Manager across sites in Eastbourne and Hailsham, you'll use trauma-informed approaches to support residents in developing life skills and working towards independent futures. A hands-on Deputy Supported Housing Manager who leads by example and builds a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Supported Housing Manager

  • Day-to-day operations of supported housing across both sites
  • One-to-one key work sessions and group activities with residents
  • Safeguarding best practice and proactive risk management
  • Accommodation standards, void turnaround, and health & safety
  • Income collection and rent payment culture
  • Case conferences and tenancy breach management
  • Staff supervision, rota support, and team development
  • Deputise for the Manager as required

Essential Skills and Experience for the Deputy Supported Housing Manager

  • Supported housing or similar experience with young people or adults with complex needs
  • Team management or supervisory experience
  • Housing management knowledge including voids, arrears, and compliance
  • Trauma-informed and psychologically informed practice
  • Safeguarding knowledge for young people or adults at risk
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (CIH Level 4 desirable)
