Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Lead Deputy Manager (RGN) to join a well-established mid-size nursing home located in the serene countryside near Reigate, Surrey. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of £55,000–£60,000 (dependent on experience). The role is primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional clinical cover and on-call responsibilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and clinically skilled professional to take on a leadership role, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while driving continuous improvement within the home.

Responsibilities

As the Clinical Lead Deputy Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical Leadership: Oversee daily operations, including handovers, reviews, rota management, and making timely clinical decisions.
  • Clinical Governance: Manage medication safety, audits, incident reporting, infection prevention and control (IPC), and implement actionable improvement plans.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure full compliance with CQC standards through robust documentation, inspection readiness, and outcome evidence.
  • Team Development: Mentor and supervise nurses and care staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high performance across the clinical team.
  • Person-Centred Care: Oversee the creation and maintenance of personalised care plans, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with residents' needs.
  • Hands-On Support: Participate in regular clinical shifts to lead by example and uphold the highest standards of nursing care.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) qualification with an active NMC pin.
  • Proven experience as a Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager, or Unit Manager within a nursing home or similar clinical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, audits, and clinical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • A track record of implementing improvements based on audit findings.
  • Desirable: A management qualification and experience in supporting individuals with dementia or complex clinical needs.

Day-to-Day

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Leading clinical handovers and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Conducting audits and implementing action plans to maintain high standards of care.
  • Supervising and mentoring the clinical team to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Liaising with families and healthcare professionals to provide holistic care for residents.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining inspection readiness.
  • Providing hands-on clinical care as needed to support the team and residents.
